Just a girl in her twenties trying to navigate her way through this crazy world.
Hi! My name is Amber, I am currently twenty-one years old, and I have a huge passion for writing. Ever since I was younger I had always felt as though I wanted to make a difference, that my life had a bigger purpose. Regardless of where life took me, I knew I wanted to experience things and be able to share my experiences with those around me.
Growing up, I faced many challenges where I had no other option but to navigate things on my own. Most of these obstacles pertaining to something that no child should have to go through, in addition to the everyday challenges that came with aging as a kid. These obstacles while tough, I wouldn’t trade, as they shaped me into the person that I am today. Not only was I taught these valuable lessons at such a young age, but I have been able to utilize and share them with those around me.
From a young age I learned that being friendly and your truest self will get you far in life, that it will help you attain the things that you truly desire. I would agree that it is mostly true, with the occasional hiccups of course, because as we all know not everything can go in our favor. However, having such an extroverted personality has proved beneficial in my character development as I age. So that’s one thing about me, I can talk a lot, as you will come to see. I am the type of person who can speak to a room full of people, just by saying hello and asking simple questions, despite not knowing a single individual. In my brain, it doesn’t seem like it’s that difficult to do, although I know others may not tend to agree. I try to look at the world around me with the mindset that people are also just trying to get by. That you never truly know what someone may be going through, which is one motto I repeat not only to myself, but to my fellow friends as well. So, a gentle reminder to you all that a simple hello and a smile can go a long way.
When asked about my future aspirations by others, I tell those around me that I want to make a difference and help people. There are many careers that would aid in me fulfilling such an interest, one of them being Nursing, which I plan to pursue. In the spring of 2022, I graduated community college with my associates degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Following that, I decided to return to school and complete the necessary prerequisites most nursing programs require prior to the start of classes. Through that journey I was able to meet a great group of people, some in which I still stay in contact with to this day. Whether it was by simply introducing myself and saying “hi, I’m amber” or asking school related questions, I tried my best to make sure those around me knew I was someone they could collaborate with. Most students in school take pride in their assignments, I was one of them. I always made sure the work I handed in had 100% effort put into it, allowing me to graduate with a 3.9. The dedication I have to be something in life is what allows me to continue, despite whatever challenges I face.
I am the type of person who hopes that through her writing and posts, that she can help those around her with whatever it is that they may be going through. Personally, I am someone who is defined as having been through a lot, whether it came down to losing a parent, losing a home, etc., I held my head up. Therefore, when I think about challenges that lay ahead, I remind myself of the individual that I am, the person who has preserved many challenges and rose to the top. We as humans share a commonality in that we all just want to be our best self. We all just need to remind ourselves that it’s our first time living, and that its okay to be there for one another.
I hope that this post provided a little bit of insight in who I am. My goal for this website is to post a load of different content, each post pertaining to something either I have experienced first hand, or from the sidelines of someone close to me. I want to be able to help anyone around me, even if it’s one person who takes something from what I write. This world is too cruel nowadays and it’s time we change that. I want to thank you all for reading this, and I can’t wait to share more about what it is that I have experienced, and what it is that is still waiting for me.
Xoxo,
Amber
